Sun King to Open Tap Room and Small-Batch Brewery in Fishers

The new Hamilton County location will serve as an ‘R&D’ space for Sun King’s brewers.
Sun King Brewing announced today it will open a new Tap Room and Small-Batch Brewery (7850 E. 96th St., sunkingbrewing.com) in Fishers early this summer, near 96th Street and Hague Road. The news comes on the heels of Sun King’s February announcement that it was putting plans for a larger 20,000-square-foot Fishers facility on hold.

The 6,000-square-foot space will include a three-barrel system with which head brewer Dave Colt and others can experiment with seasonal and specialty concoctions. The Fishers brewery, says co-owner Clay Robinson, “will be used as kind of a pilot, R&D—basically a fun factory for Dave and me and our brewers to create and experiment with new, fun beers.”

The ever-changing niche lineup, brewed onsite, should make the forthcoming Fishers tap room a beer-geek destination in Hamilton County—Sun King’s second-largest market outside of Marion County. But Sun King traditionalists can take heart: The Fishers location will have plenty of Sunlight, Osiris, and Wee Mac as well. And chairs!
