Tens of thousands came out for the annual Circle City IN Pride Festival on June 9, and the organizers' final numbers are in. Per Indy Pride's own by-the-numbers Facebook post on June 26 and Stephanie Swanson, chair of Circle City IN Pride, here are some figures from that Saturday festival and the week of events leading up to it:
12 Events over eight days
370 Runners and walkers in the inaugural Rainbow 5K on June 2
500 Attendees at the Pride community picnic in Garfield Park on June 3
1,000 People on hand at the Bat N' Rouge Softball Game, featuring male players in drag on the field, held June 3
450 People on wheels and watching who sweated to the oldies (or at least '80s hits) at Pride Skate, also on June 3
530 Humans present at Pet Pride (full photo gallery here) on June 4
650 Women who joined in for the Girl Pride event
70,000+ People present at the June 9 main festival event (Indianapolis Metro Police Department estimate)
300 Vendor booths on that day, plus 17 food vendors
450 Bags of ice drained on June 9 for official Pride use alone
115 Units in the parade to open the main day's events—21 floats; 230 vehicles; 2,000 participants; and 30,000 spectators
29 Performers on the fest's second stage
150 Performers on its main stage
80,000 Attendees throughout the week-long festival
Thousands Hours of volunteer manpower
