Drink Like A Billionaire In Carmel

Don’t ask us how much it costs for a pitcher.

If you’ve got the money, honey, Los Arroyos Mexican Restaurant and Bar in Carmel’s got your cocktail. The name’s a bit of a misnomer, though—the “Billionaire Margarita” will actually only set you back $350.
Served in a 16-ounce glass, the recipe invented by franchise owner Tony Arroyo includes ultra-premium Clase Azul Ultra Añejo Black tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier 1880 Cuvée, and fresh lime juice to justify the jaw-dropping price tag. You can order it blended or straight up, but general manager Cristiano Rodrigues recommends sticking to the classic on-the-rocks presentation with a traditional salted rim to let the flavor of the high-end ingredients shine.
“We’ve sold nine in our Indianapolis location since we opened in December, but many more in our California and Reno locations,” he says. “People order it for special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays, as well as celebratory dates like Cinco de Mayo and [Indy 500] race weekend.”
Too rich for your blood? There’s also a Millionaire Margarita ($100), a Rich Man Margarita ($80) and nearly a dozen options in the $10 to $15 range on the menu. Hot tip: All “especiales” versions are half-price on “Margarita Mondays.” Whew.
