Indianapolis will officially be ready for St. Patrick’s Day after the Greening of the Indianapolis Canal on Friday, March 16. Check out these events for St. Patrick’s Day.
Claddagh Irish Pub (234 S. Meridian St., 317-822-6274; 3835 E. 96th St., 317-569-3663; 2539 Futura Pkwy., Plainfield, 317-838-9917) is hosting a four-day celebration that starts with a singing competition, Claddagh’s Got Talent, Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Downtown and Plainfield locations. All three Claddagh locations will welcome guests as early as 8 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day for kegs and eggs.
Cornerstone Bread (2142 N. Mitthoeffer Rd., 317-897-9671) is selling small rounds of Irish Soda Bread for $4. Irish Soda Bread is also available in muffin form ($4.25/dozen). Order by noon 2 days before pick-up.
McGinleys’ Golden Ace Inn (2533 E. Washington St., 317-632-0696) is bringing Irish music straight to Indianapolis with 10 musical performances on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17. There will be five musical acts each day—with two of the acts being bands from Ireland on a U.S. tour. The Allen Gogarty Band, Shebeen, Eunan McIntyre, Pat Grant, and Wild Eye Rose will be performing in an outdoor tent from noon to 11 p.m.
Traders Point Creamery (9101 Moore Rd., Zionsville, 317-733-1700) will offer organic St. Patrick’s Day food options such as the Hearty Irish Beef Stew, filled with grassfed beef slow-cooked with carrots, parsnips, potatoes, and leeks in a broth of stock and Irish Stout. The Shamrock Green Salad includes mixed greens, green onions, peas, green peppers, cucumbers, and house-made Irish Green Goddess dressing. TPC’s Irish Coffee Ice Cream is ice cream topped with Irish Cream Liqueur and warm chocolate sauce.
