» New Albany’s River City Winery opened a tasting room in Franklin this weekend (25 N. Main St., Franklin, 812-945-9463). The space is open to the public Wednesday and Thursday evenings, and from noon to 11 p.m Friday through Sunday. $5 buys you seven one-ounce pours and will be applied to bottles of wine if you decide to do some shopping.

Pre-sale tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids, and include samples from local businesses like Litterally Divine Chocolates, Louise’s Sweets, Simply Divine Cupcakes, and Hubbard & Cravens Coffee and Tea. The event benefits Arts for Learning, an organization that connects working artists with Indiana schools and communities.
