The Feed: R Bistro, Tilly’s Team Room, and More

This Week’s Trends in Indy Dining
» After 15 years in business, veteran restaurateur Regina Mehallick will close R Bistro (888 Massachusetts Ave., 317-423-0312) on February 27. Thankfully, longtime customers will still be able to get their fix of Mehallick’s farm-to-table cooking at R2GO (1101 N. College Ave., 317-737-2543), a specialty market where the chef makes take-home entrees, side dishes, salads, soups, and specialty sandwiches.

» In other sad news, Tilly’s Tea Room (8745 E. 116th St., 317-316-1121) will also be closing at its current location at the end of this month. Square Donuts (see squaredonuts.com for locations) will be moving into the tea room’s location to launch its first Fishers outpost. Sharon Moore, owner of Tilly’s, is still on the hunt for a new location but will continue to operate a catering arm of her business in the meantime.

» According to the IBJ, the Broad Ripple location of Brothers Bar & Grill (910 Broad Ripple Ave., 317-252-5530) has reopened after a $1 million renovation project. Owners Marc and Eric Fortney expanded the space from 5,000 square feet to 8,000 square feet in hopes of offering more family-friendly seating.
