Another Broad-Ripple brewhouse joins the fray.

This winter, the village welcomed Barley Island Restaurant and Brewhouse, a satelite for the Noblesville beer-maker that earned cred with its rich Dirty Helen brown ale and crisp Blind Tiger American pale. Barley Island not only brings its Hoosier-made beer to the axis of activity on the corner of College and Broad Ripple avenues, but also provides a nexus for indigenous brews from Brugge Brasserie, Three Floyds, Michigan's Bells, and the Illinois-based Two Brothers." I believe more of the local brewpubs should start trading kegs, even if they don't have distributors," says owner Jeff Eaton, who tapped that keg by starting a Guest Brewery of the Month program.
