Before Angela Green and husband Vladimir Ronces moved to their new location on Rockville Road, their tamale joint was just that: a place to pick up generous handmade tamales, which often ran out before noon. Now they up a full menu of tacos, nachos, and gut-busting tortas (try the steak and egg) in an expanded but still cozy storefront with homey picnic tables inside, most of them completely covered with glowing reviews of the place, which got national attention on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. The daily tamale quotient is still limited, so come in early for the pork or chicken version with a tasty salsa verde or a no-less-flavorful vegetarian version with poblanos and cheese.
