First of all, he’s not Bill Paxton. Or Bill Pullman. Really, that wasn’t him in Twister or Malice. But Kinnear’s credentials are more impressive than your hazy placement of him in Hollywood’s finest may suggest. As Good as It Gets. Little Miss Sunshine. We Were Soldiers. You’ve Got Mail. Plus, he’s a Hoosier! All of which helps explain Kinnear’s star turn in this month’s exhibit The Bigger Picture Show. The annual fundraiser for the Indianapolis International Film Festival honors the Logansport native’s career on May 11 at Big Car Service Center. As usual, the event will display and sell, by silent auction, around 50 movie posters reimagined by local designers. But this year’s set also has a puzzle-like twist: It starts and ends with a Kinnear flick, and every poster connects to the one before it through the cast, Kevin Bacon–style. So if the series begins with As Good as It Gets, the second poster could be a Jack Nicholson or Helen Hunt movie. Have your IMDB app ready.
