Freelance writer Josh Green traveled all the way from Georgia to report on Champagne Velvet, Upland Brewery’s relaunch of a historic Indiana beer. “It’s pretty much a miracle that the original recipe was found,” he says of the brew, which hadn’t been produced since the 1950s. “That brand was more than just a beer to generations of Hoosiers—it was a means of sustenance and a source of pride.” Green contributes to Atlanta magazine, and his first book, Dirtyville Rhapsodies, was published in May 2013.
