Thirty-three 600-horsepower engines won’t be the only thing you’ll hear at this year’s Indianapolis 500. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced today that Skrillex will headline the infield party on race day, May 29.
General admission and VIP tickets for this massive event are on sale now for $20 and $85 at www.ims.com and www.Indy500SnakePit.com. All Snake Pit ticketholders must also hold a valid Indy 500 general admission or reserved seat ticket. Packages that include Race Day GA tickets are available.

“Some of the biggest electronic music acts in the world are set to throw the best Race Day party in town,” says J. Douglas Boles, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president. “You won’t find a better or more unique place to see an artist like Skrillex or Martin Garrix than the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on race day. It’s going to be a blast for thousands of fans and a can’t-miss event.”
In a conversation with IM last May, Boles highlighted the strategy of bringing headlining acts to race day:
“Music is a really big component to making this feel like a big event. More than just on track, it makes it feel like the event that it is.
“The old Snake Pit, the original Snake Pit in the ’60s and ’70s, was just a party, just this organic party. People didn’t come for the race; they came for the party, and eventually they grew up, decided this is what they did on Memorial Day weekend, and made it their regular stop on Memorial Day weekend. Even without the music.
“There are a lot of young drivers coming up through the series now, so if we can figure out how to connect those young drivers to the group that’s there in the Snake Pit, I think that will help accelerate that connection.”
Martin Garrix, Zed’s Dead, and DJ Mustard join Skrillex to round out the EDM-heavy lineup.
