Daniel Moyer, CEO of Moyer Fine Jewelers, doesn’t keep diamonds or emeralds at home. But he does have a gem of a backyard, replete with a swimming pool, bocce court, and fishing lake. “My favorite part of this house is when I get up in the mornings and have a view,” says Moyer. “In the summer, we spend a lot of time out here.”

CABANA
As a hobby, Moyer has built about 25 Indy residences. For this home, he worked with designer Gary Nance and builder Rick Hamilton.

FLOWERS
“This is all thanks to Sherri,” says Moyer of his wife, who oversees the abundant blooms bedecking the backyard. “She spends about 40 hours a week keeping it up.”

BOCCE BALLS
Moyer bowls them on the bocce court, located a few steps from the lounge area. He will admit to being only “pretty good.”

TOWELS
“I get up in the morning and swim,” says Moyer. “I’m a pretty active guy when I start my day.”

BIRDHOUSE
“My wife collects these. This one came from a pretty little store in Carmel,  California. We were out there for the U.S. Open.”

NEWSPAPER
The Indianapolis Star is a morning ritual for Moyer, who reads it from front to back. “In the last six months, I’ve become a crossword guy,” he says.

BEER
“I drink Miller Lite all the time. It’s been my go-to since college. I don’t drink much else.”
