Fans have taken each weighty bit of info as a little souvenir to hold them over until The Fault in Our Stars hits theaters on June 6. Last summer, we found out filming would take place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, even though the book’s story takes place in Indianapolis. A couple months after that came the release-date announcement, followed by an official movie poster that caused some controversy. Earlier this year, 20th Century Fox released the first official photo from the movie, and an official trailer that further brought cancer-stricken lovers Hazel Grace (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort) to life.

Last night, the TFIOS teaser train made perhaps its most impactful stop to date at the MTV Movie Awards, a production mostly watched by the same young adults you’ll find rereading Green’s novels countless times. The first token of the night came when Woodley and Elgort appeared in a brand-new scene (video above) during the program’s pre-show. Then, during the main event, the two appeared onstage together to introduce the band Twenty One Pilots.

Also in attendance: Green himself, with wife Sarah Urist Green, who enlivened her look with bright-orange shoes. The author may never have expected to walk a red carpet in his life, as tweets of near-shock and awe continued throughout the night. “This is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me,” he posted. He also put out one post congratulating Woodley on winning “Favorite Character” for her role in Divergent, another YA book–turned-film.

Green’s raw, witty writing style has earned him three books on The New York Times bestseller list, prestigious writing awards, 2.2 million Twitter followers, and one of YouTube’s most popular channels. Yet he can’t seem to contain himself in a room full of stars:

Green should probably get used to the fame, as the TFIOS movie will surely be a juggernaut at next year’s MTV Movie Awards.

In addition to all of that, a TFIOS soundtrack listing was released Saturday with a lot of indie-rock outfits and mainstream vets appearing on it, including Ray LaMontagne and M83. Arguably the most popular artist involved is Ed Sheeran, hot off a Saturday Night Live appearance, who informed fans via Twitter about his connection.

You can pre-order the soundtrack before it releases on May 19. Here’s the full track listing:

1. Ed Sheeran – “All Of The Stars”
2. Jake Bugg – “Simple As This”
3. GROUPLOVE – “Let Me In”
4. Birdy & Jaymes Young – “Best Shot”
5. Kodaline – “All I Want”
6. Tom Odell – “Long Way Down”
7. Charli XCX – “Boom Clap”
8. STRFKR – “While I’m Alive”
9. Indians – “Oblivion”
10. The Radio Dept. – “Strange Things Will Happen”
11. Afasi & Filthy – “Bomfallarella”
12. Ray LaMontagne – “Without Words”
13. Birdy – “Not About Angels”
14. Lykke Li – “No One Ever Loved”
15. M83 – “Wait”

We are now less than two months away from that June 6 premiere date, and Green is about to become far busier with his film promotion. Be on the lookout for television appearances galore soon. Even if you aren’t watchful, The Fault in Our Stars will find you.
