See Roy Hibbert Block an Indy Schoolkid's Shot

Where was this type of defense last night?

As the Pacers were scratched by a 109-87 score against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, perhaps its top guns need better practice partners than kids a fourth their size. The youngster, a third-grader at Indy’s Paramount School of Excellence, who had his shot excellently blocked by Roy Hibbert in a viral video may yet want to call up Charlotte’s center, Al Jefferson, for some revenge.

First, get lost watching that hilariously GIF-able moment (above, at the 1:35 mark) from Hibbert’s “New Kid” episode from the NBA’s Dream Big campaign.

Now, Jefferson had his way last night, easily scoring 34 points with eight rebounds on Hibbert, while holding the Indiana big man to only eight field-goal attempts and just four points. It seems safe to say that, this time, Hibbert got schooled.

To be fair, this is only the second time all season the Pacers have lost two in a row. They boast a league-best 46-15 record compared to the Bobcats’ paltry 28-33 mark. And despite last night’s stunning loss, your Pacers are the first team to secure a spot in the 2014 NBA playoffs. Plus, it’s fun to see the squad’s stars having fun with their images and giving back to the local community.
