How to use IM’s 2014 School Guide:

All information, except tuition rates and enrollment figures for Indianapolis Public Schools and private schools, is from the Indiana Department of Education. ISTEP+ scores, ECA scores, and public-school enrollment numbers are from the 2012-2013 school year. Tuition and enrollment numbers for private schools are for the 2013-2014 year. Tuition rates are for one student; discounts may apply if enrolling more than one child.

A note on test scores: The ISTEP+ exam is given to grades 3-8, and the figures here, from the 2012-2013 school year, are the percentages of all tested students passing both the English/language arts (E/LA) and math sections. At the high school level, students are tested with end-of-course assessments, or ECAs, which are administered when a student completes Algebra 1 and English 10. The percentages listed here reflect the number of tested students who passed both English 10 and Algebra 1.

ISTEP+ and ECA scores are omitted here if they were unavailable from the DOE, as in the cases of some private schools and schools with small class sizes. All figures are current as of press time, but for more information, visit the DOE’s data site, compass.doe.in.gov, or contact the individual schools.

About colleges and universities: Costs listed are the approximate figures for undergraduate students for 2013–2014, unless otherwise noted. Additional fees will apply. If not listed differently, schools are in Indianapolis. (Note: The list does not include all Indiana colleges and universities.)
