Charlene Spierer says that despite the setback in efforts to gather information on Lauren’s disappearance, the family will continue to pursue legal action.
"We will continue to search for any information which will lead us to answers in Lauren's disappearance," says Charlene Spierer.
More information about the morning the IU student disappeared could come to light after a judge advances her parents’ lawsuit against two of the last men known to have seen her before she went missing.
The case will now enter the next phase of litigation, which involves full discovery, attorney Jason Barclay tells IM. “One aspect of that is taking depositions under oath,” says Barclay.
The complaint, initiated by the missing IU student’s parents, alleges new facts in the case and contradicts some previously reported information.
The Spierers’ lawsuit contradicts some information included in IM’s report from June 2011, printed one year after Lauren went missing.
