ShopTalk: Dottie Couture Adds Sister Store

Greenwood’s favorite boutique takes on the north side.

Keystone at the Crossing has an obvious edge when it comes to attracting shoppers; it isn’t called The Fashion Mall for nothing. But there’s always room for one more boutique, especially when the newcomer is the sister store to Greenwood’s Dottie Couture.

Opening an uptown version—it’s located in the redeveloped Five River Crossing building, which Ocean Prime anchors—was a logical step for owner Brooke Madgzinski, who’d already cracked this market online. “Our website was shipping a huge amount to Zionsville, Carmel, and Noblesville,” she says. New customers will want to “like” the store’s Facebook page, where shopgirls model nearly every item and post gift-card giveaways and coupon codes.

For another fan favorite—the well-stocked sales rack, where we recently found a buttery leather jacket for $42—you’ll have to go brick-and-mortar, to the bright space where Madgzinski’s antique furnishings work as display tables, and on-trend pieces (such as wildly popular dolman-sleeved tops, $26, and fleece-lined leggings, $9) sell quickly. See, north- and southsiders, we’re not so different after all.  8555 River Rd., 844-5848, dottiecouture.com.
