ShopTalk: Profyle Crosses Over at Ironworks

Rare brands and sharp service equal a glam mall alternative at Keystone at the Crossing.

If the new Ironworks at Keystone hopes to lure big spenders away from The Fashion Mall, the hip, multiuse development just west on 86th Street chose its first boutique, Profyle, well. Owner Wandini Riggins’s shop looks like a dream closet, with sparkly chandeliers suspended above racks of velvety Autumn Cashmere sweaters (starting at $190), Unreal Fur vests out of Australia ($179 to $250), and celebrity-favorite Jackie O dresses by Black Halo ($354). A designated “kids zone” features a suede couch perched in front of a big screen, and it’s not unusual for the manager to supply snacks while moms enjoy a personalized concierge appointment. For that free service, Riggins pulls together completed looks with detailed accessory ideas, all the way down to booking customers an appointment with her go-to hairstylist and makeup artist. Looking for last-minute gifts? Profyle can have something wrapped and ready for same-day pickup. “We like to say that we’re high fashion,” Riggins says, then pauses. “Without the attitude.”
