Homespun Celebrates New Mass Ave Location

Live music, food samples, and demonstrations make up the shop’s grand-opening party.
After three and a half years in Irvington, Homespun: Modern Handmade has made the move to Mass Ave, and they’re inviting the public to celebrate the new space from 5–10 p.m. Friday, March 7. Now at 869 Massachusetts Avenue in the Trailside building, the “brick-and-mortar Etsy” welcomes guests for its grand-opening party, during which you can enjoy music by D. Mark & Jules; savor samples from Just Pop In!, Scratch Truck, and cocktail-elixir creator Wilks & Wilson; or craft a floral headpiece under the guidance of Meg Catherine Flowers. To register for the class, which is $45, visit homespunindy.com

More than 250 artists showcase their contemporary handmade and locally produced wares in Homespun’s expanded retail space. You’ll find artisanal foods, jewelry, bath-and-body products, toys, and Indiana-pride T-shirts, to name a few.

Keep an eye out for coupons at select Irvington and Mass Ave boutiques that’ll get you 10 percent off at Homespun March 7–9. And if you can’t make it Friday, the store has other events throughout the weekend, such as a portraiture demonstration from Cordial Kitten and a tasting from Best Boy & Co., maker of barbecue and dessert sauces and spice rubs.
