Tracking the Indiana Bicentennial Torch Relay: Hoosier Musts

For three weeks, we’ve been following the Torch relentlessly, but there are more celebrations going on outside of the relay throughout Indiana. Mark your calendars for these bicentennial parties.

Indiana Spirits: Bicentennial Birthday Bash

Get out your party hats, because the biggest birthday bash our Hoosier state has ever seen will be held at the Indiana State Museum this Saturday night, October 1. The Indiana Spirits event will serve wine, beer, and food, all from local Hoosiers, of course. Dance music will be provided by Indianapolis native The Doo! Band. Click here for more event and ticket information.

Indiana 200 Bucket List

If you’re one of those dedicated volunteers trekking across the state after the Torch (or you’re simply a Torch Relay diehard), you might as well check some things off the bucket list while you’re traveling. Honest-to-Goodness Indiana has put together a 200-item list of things you should do, see, and try in Indiana before you, well, kick the bucket. Click here for the list!

Indiana in 200 Objects

The Indiana State Museum will host this exhibit until January 29, 2017. Filled with 200 artifacts that have shaped our state, the nation, and the world, this exhibition is one you don’t want to miss. Find out more information here.

Finding Home: Indiana at 200

Shortly after the flame concludes its journey at the Indiana State House for one last celebration on October 15, the Indiana Repertory Theatre will begin its honorary Hoosier play—Finding Home: Indiana at 200—on October 18. Promising to showcase the best and worst of Indiana’s icons through comedy, drama, fable, and more, the play will also feature songs by singer-songwriter Tim Grimm. Click here for more information.

Check back next week for a recap of the weekend and to learn more about events near you!
