On May 19, Clowes Memorial Hall will showcase the 20th-annual Spotlight event, with the evening’s anniversary performances to benefit the Indiana AIDS Fund and The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, which raise money for HIV testing and prevention. The event will be special, as it will feature 13 of Indy’s best performing arts organizations all on one stage, with no intermission and new acts going on every five to 10 minutes.

The full roster:

» Brenda Williams and the Pride of Indy Jazz Ensemble
» Doug Dilling, vocalist (new)
» The Fourth Wall
» John Goodson, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis (new)
» Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre
» Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra
» Indianapolis Men’s Chorus (pictured, above)

Of course that lineup may change, but if you’re wondering where the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indiana Repertory Theatre and Phoenix Theatre are on this list, you will need to wait until next year. Artistic director David Hochoy decided to break the show up into two groups, because so many arts groups wanted to participate in Spotlight’s anniversary show. Thus, one set of artists will perform this year, and another will go on in 2015. Per organizers, this will make it all the better to highlight veteran favorites as well as up-and-coming artists. (As noted above, Spotlight 2014 will feature five new individual and group performers.)
