Pat McAfee on His I-69 Tour

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the punter-turned-comedian.
When Colts punter Pat McAfee first stepped onto the stage, we fell in love with his humor. Now, McAfee is taking his comedy act throughout Indiana on the I-69 Tour, which makes stops next month in Evansville (February 10), Wabash (February 11), Muncie (February 12), and Bloomington (February 13).

But don’t expect a typical comedy act. All of his stories are personal experiences, McAfee said, and he doesn’t plan on reusing any material from previous shows.

“This will be a completely different set of stories,” he said in a press conference on Thursday. “I’m not running out of material anytime soon.”

He also doesn’t plan on always sticking to just one era of his life. McAfee has talked about his early years in the NFL in previous comedy acts, but every part of his life has its own material that is interesting in its own way, he said. As he’s preparing for the tour, he’s most excited about sitting down and putting those stories together for the show.

“I felt more comfortable up there than I felt taking a snap for the Indianapolis Colts.”

“Just going through the Rolodex of my life is an absolute blast,” he said.

Although McAfee has been interested in making people laugh all of his life, he’s obviously been busy with sports. It was being on The Bob & Tom Show that gave McAfee the final push to take the stage, and at first he was nervous about how people would respond.

Then he stood in front of the mike.

“I felt more comfortable up there than I felt taking a snap for the Indianapolis Colts,” McAfee said about his first time onstage, adding that there’s nothing comparable between doing comedy and playing football.

McAfee said he’s excited to go across the state and meet Hoosiers, and if his Twitter page is any indication, they’re excited to meet him too.

Tickets for the I-69 Tour go on sale 10 a.m. on Friday, January 15, at livenation.com and will be priced at $35. There are only a limited number of VIP tickets available. The show recommends attendees be 16 years or older.
