A First Look At Nook

Now that the restaurant group that brought The Northside Social to Broad Ripple has mastered the supper club, the sandwich shop, the Latin cocktail spot, and the Mexican cantina, what more could they set their sights on? Pizza, of course, done only as restaurateur Nicole Harlan-Oprisu and recent Meridian on Meridian transfer Dean Sample can. The duo spent the fall installing a pizza oven in the adjacent kitchen of Northside Kitchenette and dressing up the slender corner storefront that formerly housed Village Cigar, which they aptly renamed The Nook by Northside. Pies are topped with white clam sauce and bacon (the “Clam Bake”) and a trio of pork products (the “Piggy Smalls”), while goat cheese–stuffed dates or burrata with a rich Bolognese sauce are great small plates to sample with an Aperol spritzer at the bar. Scoops from Zionsville’s Gelato da Vinci are sweet reasons to stop by one of the cozier new spots in town. 6513 N. College Ave., 317-253-0450, northsidenook.com
