Eat Sheet: The Eagle, Cutters Brewing Company, and More

This Week’s Trends in Indy Dining
» The IBJ reports that Cincinnati-based restaurant The Eagle Food & Beer Hall plans to open a location on Mass Ave, in what will be the former Stout’s Shoes building next door to parent company Thunderdome Restaurant Group’s other Indy venture, Bakersfield on Mass (334 Massachusetts Ave., 317-635-6962). The Eagle serves Southern comfort–style food and expects an end-of-summer opening date.

» Avon nano-brewery Cutters Brewing Company has closed, as has the embattled 111 Cakery downtown, which lit a fire for business owners’ religion-based discretion well before Hoosiers’ present spat over the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

» Sullivan’s Steakhouse (3316 E. 86th St., 317-580-1280) has launched a new bar menu, adding steak flatbread, loaded potato tots, and sesame-chive salmon to the lineup.

» Want to try an alternative to the traditional Irish corned-beef meal this St. Patrick’s Day? Smoking Goose (407 N. Dorman St., 317-638-6328) has corned pork tongue and pork-sausage bangers made with Sun King’s Ring of Dingle Irish stout.
