» Indianapolis diners nabbed all of the remaining reservations at Recess (4907 N. College Ave., 317-925-7529) within 24 hours of chef Greg Hardesty announcing his plans to close  his prix-fixe spot in SoBro. The last meal will be served on Saturday, February 18. If you didn’t grab a spot, you can call the restaurant, get on a wait list, and cross your fingers.

» And as Recess moves out, Ukiyo moves in. Chef Neal Brown will start taking reservations for his Japanese restaurant on March 1, anticipating an April opening in Hardesty’s former Recess digs.

» Lebanon announced its first food fete, Savor Lebanon Craft Beer, Wine, and Food Festival. The February 25 event at the Boone County Fairgrounds will feature more than 15 Indiana breweries and 10 local restaurants. Tickets are $40 online, $45 at the gate, and $10 for designated drivers. Just leave the kids at home, because this is a 21-and-older event.

» The owners of 10-01 Food and Drink (1001 Broad Ripple Ave., 317-253-1001) announced via Facebook last week that the restaurant will will close on February 11.  No reason was given for the closure, but the post indicated that another business will open in the same location soon.

» These Valentine’s cookies available at Rosie’s Place (68 N. 9th St., Noblesville, 317-770-3322; 10 S. Main St., Zionsville, 317-344-6500) combine three of our truest loves: breakfast, pizza, and cookies.

» Tinker Coffee cupping events have sold out through April. But mark your calendar for May 6. That’s when the local roaster offers its biggest event yet, this time at The Tube Factory in Garfield Park (1125 Cruft St.). Tinker co-founder Stephen Hall promises a party that includes cupping education, tips on brewing a great cup of coffee at home from local rock-star baristas and cafe owners, and ideas for crafting coffee-based cocktails. There will also be food trucks on site, and beer and wine vendors.

» Bartenders all over the city created craft cocktails for Cheers to Vonnegut, a weeks-long event commemorating the 10th anniversary of the author’s death and the relocation of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library (to 646 Massachusetts Avenue) in April. Eleven bars and restaurants are offering tribute drinks, including the Not Kilgore’s Drano at Spoke & Steele, and the Amber Moment at Black Market.

» Nada (11 W. Maryland St.,317-638-6262) and Sun King Brewing are teaming up for special beer-paired lunch and dinner menus, available at the restaurant February 15–19. Sign us up for that fried-oyster taco with spicy mayo and kimchi, served alongside a Lupulin Astronaut.
