Recipe: Deidra Henry’s Pesto
Basil pesto: Just one of our January Foodie’s favorite things.
- 2 cups Annabelle’s Garden local basil
- 2 cloves garlic
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
- ½ cup nuts, preferably pine nuts or walnuts
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
Combine all ingredients into a blender or food processor, and pulse until fine. For a rustic texture, chop basil, garlic, and nuts by hand, then combine with rest of ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. For variety in flavor, consider substituting kale, swiss chard, or collard greens for basil.
