Swoon List: The Coterie, Rocket 88, and More

Five things we adore right now.

The Swoon List compiles our latest food-and-drink favorites. They’re not ranked, just delicious.

Piping-hot fried cheese curds with just enough gooey snap encased in a delicate Sun King Osiris beer batter at The Coterie (107 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, 765-450-5002). Sriracha aioli adds a touch of heat.

A sugar-glazed mini blueberry cake doughnut (try to eat just one) off the vegan menu at Rocket 88 (874 Virginia Ave., 317-737-2614; 4909 N. College Ave., 317-201-3513).

A succulent 8-ounce filet at Mesh (725 Massachusetts Ave., 317-955-9600), cooked to a soft medium-rare, drizzled with its own juices, and topped with a melting pat of herbed butter.

Hobnob Corner Restaurants (17 W. Main St., Nashville, 812-988-4114) featured summertime vegetarian plate: fried green tomatoes. Firm, crunchy discs with the essential salty-sour zing sit atop a plank of toasted ciabatta slathered with pimento cheese. Basil mayonnaise, balsamic, and fresh basil provide additional flavor.
