Chicago’s beloved breakfast spot Yolk is coming to the Plaza at CityWay this summer. The 4,410-square-foot space will sit just east of The Alexander and will be the fourth restaurant addition to Buckingham Companies’ 10-acre neighborhood. “We love adding new dining options to CityWay, and it’s great to welcome a new restaurateur to Indy,” says Becca Manolov, director of community relations for Buckingham. “Brunch is my favorite meal of the day, and Yolk will be perfect for client meetings, family outings, or breakfast dates with friends.”
Owner Taki Kastanis opened Yolk’s first location in Chicago in 2006 and expanded the charming eatery to five locations. Indianapolis will be the first city outside of Chicago to experience the cheery yellow-and-blue setting. Customers will be able to feast on affordable breakfast-and-lunch fare daily, including the hearty Pot Roast Benedict, a buttery English muffin stacked with pot roast, poached eggs, and housemade hollandaise sauce. Sweeter options include the decadent Bananas Foster Crepes, overstuffed with bananas sauteed in a rich butter–brown sugar sauce.
The menu also features Yolk favorites like fresh-squeezed strawberry-orange juice; the Good Morning Burger smothered in cheese and an over-easy egg; and the Croque Madame: grilled ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese sandwiched between two pieces of challah French toast and adorned with an egg sunny-side–up. Yolk will be open 6 a.m.–3 p.m. during the week and 7 a.m.–3 p.m. on weekends.
