The Feed: Burger Study, Bocce at City Market, And More

This week’s trends in Indy dining.
» Burger Study, the new restaurant from the owners of St. Elmo’s Steak House and Harry & Izzy’s, is now open in Circle Centre (28 W. Georgia St., 317-777-7770). Diners can order a B.Y.O.B (Build Your Own Burger) starting at $9, or go for broke with the Doctorate, a $30 luxe burger of dry-aged beef topped with foie gras, whipped brie, caramelized onions, dijon mustard, and arugula.

» The inaugural Savor the International Marketplace runs October 1–15, when tons of restaurants from the thriving global-eats neighborhood on the northwest side of Indianapolis (near 38th Street and Lafayette Road) will offer special meal deals. Diners can get authentic cuisine from China, Pakistan, Mexico, India, and others while saving a little cash. Check the website for menus and participating restaurants.
» The Indianapolis Business Journal reported on three new restaurants coming soon to Indianapolis and the ’burbs. Valparaiso’s Burgerhaus will open in Carmel this winter at 98 First Avenue SW (they’ve operated a downtown location at 335 West 9th Street since 2014); Prodigy Burgers and Bar, a family-friendly concept from the owners of Prime 47 (Circle Centre mall downtown and Clay Terrace in Carmel) will open in November at Clay Terrace; and Columbus, Ohio’s Condado Tacos is heading to Broad Ripple in the former home of the Village Tap Room (838 Broad Ripple Ave.), with eyes on opening by May 5 for Cinco de Mayo. Condado also hopes to open in the Penrose on Mass apartment project (502 Massachusetts Ave.) in the fall of 2018.

Owner Shari Jenkins announced last week on social media that the original location will not reopen. Jenkins said to stay tuned to the restaurant’s Facebook page for details on the fall opening of the new location in the Carter Building nearby.
» Indianapolis City Market is hosting a Bocce & Espresso tournament this Saturday (September 30), and you can enter with a team for $10 per person. There will be Italian-style espresso from Miles Square Coffee, food from City Market vendors, and prizes.
