IXCA Mexican Kitchen (5537 E. Washington St., 317-986-4154) starts things on a tasty course with mini gorditas, masa pastries stuffed with beans, lettuce, and cheese.
The too-teeny shrimp corn dogs at Oakleys Bistro (1464 W. 86th St., 317-824-9178). You can’t eat just one.
Rebar Indy (20 N. Delaware St., 317-685-5100) allows patrons to pour their own beer. Luckily the signature burger—a half-pound of blended Angus beef, cheddar, tomato, bacon jam, and grilled red onion on a toasted brioche bun—is a worthy companion.
