The Feed: Caplinger’s Fresh Catch, Pizza By The Slice, And More

This week’s trends in Indy dining.

» Caplinger’s Fresh Catch (7460 N. Shadeland Ave., 317-288-7263; 15009 Gray Rd., Noblesville, 317-218-3221) plans to open a third location. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, owner Andrew Caplinger will expand his fresh fish market into Boone County at 6685 E. State Road 334, the former home of Giandolfo’s New York Deli.
» Indy isn’t exactly known for pizza-by-the-slice options, but two new spots downtown have grabbed (and folded) the deliciously portable snack. Lexington-based Goodfellas Pizzeria (545 Massachusetts Ave., 317-602-3401) is now open on Mass Ave, and Chicago-based Papa Ray’s Pizza & Wings (1267 Shelby St., 317-820-3173) is serving hungry diners in Fountain Square.

» Delaware sub shop Capriotti’s recently opened its first Indiana location (5320 E. 82nd St., 317-813-4663) and is celebrating the grand opening on April 22 with a big giveaway of its most popular sandwich. » The downtown Chef JJ’s (42 W. South St., 317-602-3828) will team up with Indiana goat cheese maker Capriole for a gourmet cheese dinner on April 13. Expect cheese-centric dishes and conversation.
