» On September 10, more than 50 craft breweries will set out to prove that good beer doesn’t have to come in a bottle during the fourth annual Sun King CANvitational. The event also features food trucks and live music. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 day-of. Designated drivers get in for $10.
» Tickets are on sale for the September 16–17 Mixture: Indianapolis Cocktail Tour. Attendees check in on Georgia Street, grab a Tour Passport and Transportation Pass, then sample cocktails from some of Indy’s favorite bartenders on Mass Ave, Fletcher Place, Fountain Square, and the Wholesale District. A bus provides transportation between neighborhoods. Tickets are $50 for one night or $85 for the weekend.
» Just go ahead and clear your calendar for September 13. Oakleys Bistro is hosting its Pig & Pinot event that day. Local chefs will prepare 10 pork courses paired with pinot noirs from around the world. Participants include Dean Sample (Meridian), Ricky Martinez (Delicia), Craig Baker (The Local Eatery & Pub, Plow & Anchor, Bent Rail), Jake Burgess (FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale), and Steve Oakley, Justin Bauerle, and Jarred Miller (Oakleys Bistro). On that same evening, Milktooth hosts the Indianapolis stop on the culinary tour of CRUX, a collective founded by chef Brandon Baltzley of The Buffalo Jump in Cape Cod. Milktooth proprietor and chef Jonathan Brooks will join Baltzley in the kitchen, alongside chef Laura Higgins-Baltzley (also of The Buffalo Jump), and Kyle Paton, chef and owner of The Black Lodge and Grow Kitchen in Ontario, Canada.
