No. 8 – The Brass Ring Lounge

Best Place to Show Off a Tattoo

Follow the mob of Fountain Square hipsters to this unassuming little lounge, where a trio of musicians often sets up at one end of the joint and the oversized windows fog at the other. Years before the speakeasy trend made its way to Indy full force, this establishment featured Jazz Age photos on the wall and classic cocktails like the Sazerac. Several bars have refined that concept since 2008, but almost none of them have been able to attract the stylishly disheveled crowds of the original. Maybe it has something to do with the Brass Ring’s beautiful Art Deco bar, which reminds many of the one from The Shining. Unlike Jack Nicholson, you won’t be drinking alone here.
