Indianapolis Zoo's New Sea Lion Survived Shooting Off California Coast

Oct. 1, 2012: Meet Ray. He’s the newest addition to the Indianapolis Zoo’s sea life exhibit. Previously he was shot numerous times in the Pacific Ocean off of California. He was then rescued by the Marine Mammal Center, but not before losing his right eye in the attack. After initially being placed in solitary environs in late August, he then joined female sea lion Marcy and similar “rescues” Pepper (a grey seal) and Tac (a harbor seal) at the zoo.
