Ambre Blends Launches First New Scent In Six Years

Ahnu Essence is intended to smell like spring.
Long before Ambre Blends was sold in boutiques across the country and name-checked by Vogue, making organic fragrance oils was merely a hobby for owner and creator Ambre Crockett. That changed in 2003, when Haus Love became the first store to start selling the line.
So it made perfect sense that the launch party of Ambre Blends’s newest scent, Ahnu Essence, which the company says represents a return to its “earthly” roots, was held at the chic SoBro design boutique. Guests were treated to the first sniff of Ahnu, dabbing on the unisex scent between sips of wine and bites of gourmet hors d’oeuvres from Capital City Kitchen.

A cocktail of tuberose, violet leaf, tobacco, lotus flower, and champaca—plus a few other elements that the company keeps under wraps—goes into Ahnu, which Crockett wanted to smell like a spring day just after a rain shower. You know the scent: sweet, fresh, and earthy.
“People will like it for how it smells but also for what it represents,” Crockett says, referring to the healing and reinvigorating properties of Ahnu’s ingredients.
