Hot New Nordstrom Lines Skip Indy

Whither Kate Moss Topshop and BaubleBar?

This post has been updated with a response from Nordstrom.

Kate Moss is on the verge of launching a Topshop collection for Nordstrom … but when it rolls out across the country on April 30, the boho blouses, bias-cut gowns, and other Brit-chic pieces won’t be on the racks of the Fashion Mall store.

And we love that Nordstrom is now carrying the BaubleBar line of cute, colorful jewelry starting at just $24 … but the coral cuffs, turquoise drop earrings, and other fun finds aren’t sold at the Fashion Mall.

Notice a trend?

We asked Nordstrom’s people why Indy is getting about as much love as mom jeans. According to publicist Kelly Skahan, it’s about both space and product availability.

“We want Topshop to be in all markets as soon as we can make that happen, but that department needs a certain amount of space and the right configuration in the store,” says Skahan. “That, unfortunately, isn’t available in Keystone right now, but we hope it will be in the future.”

As for BaubleBar, there’s only so much stuff to go around. “That vendor just doesn’t have the ability to produce enough product for us to carry the items in every store,” says Skahan.

In general, says Skahan, “we put a lot of thought into determining the offering in our stores and always do our best to listen to feedback from customers on what they’d like to see.”

She also mentioned a couple of upcoming special events in the Fashion Mall store: a Prom Nail Party from noon to 3 p.m. on April 12, and a Beauty Trend Event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 9 and 10, which includes free customized samples and exclusive gifts with purchase.

So there’s that.

And the determined can still order the BaubleBar pieces at nordstrom.com, and the Kate Moss collection starting April 30. Sizes range from 2 to 12, and prices run the gamut from $90 for a paisley scarf to $690 for a bias-cut maxi dress.

Above is a gallery of Kate Moss modeling some of the looks. We’re especially digging the embroidered smock dress in shot #5 (those boots!).
