At Home: Angie Jakad Fischer’s Boudoir

A local design guru’s retreat is one sweet dream.
Look no further than Angie Jakad Fischer’s online appointment book for evidence that business is booming at her hip new company, Interior Design Therapy. In between house calls and color consultations, Fischer penciled us in for a peek inside her girly Meridian-Kessler sanctuary.

Wings
“I like to incorporate large-scale pieces into a lot of my design work,” Fischer says. She used to model these for Victoria’s Secret. (Just kidding—they came from Midland.)

Flowers
The designer makes these giant tissue-paper flowers for weddings and events.

Chandelier
This vintage fixture—with real crystals—cost only $50 at a flea market in Texas.

Collage
Fischer likes creating mixed-media artwork, like these old images that she transferred onto canvas and painted.

Nightstand
Fischer discovered this retro TV at Big Al’s Superstore in SoBro and converted it to a bedside table.

Bouquet
Fischer crafted these sparkly blossoms out of vintage jewelry and wire.

Letter
From Society of Salvage downtown.

Dresses
Fischer collects old prom frocks and wears them to events. Broad Ripple Vintage is her go-to thrift shop.

Bedding
“It was designed by Rachel Ashwell, who basically inspired my whole career,” Fischer says.

Bed
A wrought-iron bed with ornate scrolled designs is a staple of a shabby-chic bedroom.

Pet
“Scout doesn’t have a clue that he’s a dog,” Fischer says with a chuckle. “We call him the furry brother.” He sleeps on this Victorian doll bed that she painted black.
