Scrolling your Instagram feed can be quite productive—just ask Hoosier Mallory Talty and Chicagoan Siggi Bennett, the cofounders of online kids’ shop Halfsies. The stylish business partners met in the comments section when their favorite children’s brand, AKid, regrammed Talty’s photo of her little girl repping the company’s boots. Considering the duo’s daughters (modeling in the photo) look like they belong in an Armani Junior ad, it was only a matter of time before the moms joined forces to bring avant-garde kidswear to the masses. They launched Halfsies last fall, selling haute playdate basics, like a dusty-rose jumpsuit ($43) and unisex Mimobee tees ($17), as sported by Kim Kardashian’s tot North West. The pieces might be pint-sized, but there’s nothing small about the bold statement they make—a poufy, cropped jacket ($88), snakeskin slip-ons ($49), and tiger joggers ($30) look more fit for the runway than recess. Parents be warned: Your little one’s style will be trendier than yours.
