25 Days of Holiday Gifts: Indy Postcards

When IM contributor Matt Gonzales brought the Baby Reynolds postcards to our attention, we were immediately sold on the arresting black-and-white photography of Indy landmarks, streets, and moments. (That’s the Rathskeller biergarten’s bandshell, but every location is neatly labeled on the back if you need help.) Then we learned that the photographer, Amanda Reynolds, is selling the book of 20 tear-away cards to raise money for her and her husband to adopt a child—which, according to an expense breakdown on her website, costs around $35,000. Beautiful all the way around. $20. Homespun: Modern Handmade, 869 Massachusetts Ave., 317-351-0280,, and Silver in the City, 434 Massachusetts Ave., 317-955-9925,

Fernandez began writing for Indianapolis Monthly in 1995 while studying journalism at Indiana University. One of her freelance assignments required her to join a women's full-tackle football team for a season. She joined the staff in 2005 to edit IM's ancillary publications, including Indianapolis Monthly Home. In 2011, she became a senior editor responsible for the Circle City section as well as coverage of shopping, homes, and design-related topics. Now an executive editor, she lives downtown.
