We all love a good deal, and a new retail spot in the northern ’burbs has racks full of them. Open since mid-March, Clothes Mentor in Fishers offers name-brand labels in sizes 0 to 26, along with petites and maternity. A recent visit found items neatly arranged according to type of clothing and size. A wall of higher-end handbags (we spotted some canvas Coach bags) is right up front, while a hefty selection of Vera Bradley items and crowded displays of necklaces and earrings are in the back.
You’ll see names like Juicy Couture and Anthropologie mixed in with lower-end brands, such as Target’s Merona label. We found a Michael by Michael Kors black-and-white shift dress for $50, a sequined tank from Banana Republic for $15 (with the original $49.50 price tag still attached), and a pair of sparkling Enzo Angiolini pumps for $25.
Not everything is going to ‘wow,’ though. Some things looked dated, shabby, or stretched-out. You just have to dig to find the gems—and isn’t that half the fun? (If not, then take the shortcut and check out the higher-end goods posted on the store’s Facebook page.) 11670 Commercial Dr., Fishers, 317-288-8028, clothesmentor.com
