Tweets of the Week: Sports Media Brawl

The news of Chuck Pagano’s contract extension launched a local sports-media brawl for the ages.

Let’s start from the top; Colts GM Ryan Grigson and Chuck Pagano reportedly do not see eye to eye, but apparently that was media-driven.

It was the final game of the season, and most of the world had sources who thought it would also be Pagano’s last.

Sources were more fervent in saying “bye bye” to the Colts head coach for much of “Black Monday.”

But, the team made them wait…

… and wait.

Apparently they waited for nothing.

Then, the Colts announced a 10:30 p.m. press conference with Pagano, Grigson, and Irsay. The local sports media horde sped to the Colts complex. 1070 The Fan’s Michael Grady captured the scene along 56th street.

With a new 4-year contract extension, a new hashtag was born; #ChuckStays.

Thus began a local sports-media fight to rival anything Anchorman came up with.
