CLOSED: The Legend

This Irvington favorite feels like a cozy old haunt, even on a first visit. The two relaxed dining rooms have rich Craftsman details, and the bar seats fill up with regulars sipping wine and eating comfort food. Come for excellent pan-fried fish and meatloaf just like Mom’s, served on a plate heaped with mashed potatoes and vegetables. A favorite (and a bargain at just $8) is Dad’s Crunchy Chicken—a breast dredged in breadcrumbs, sautéed, and then baked. Save room for dessert à la mode. Lunch and dinner Tues.–Sat.
