Eco-Friendly Fashion at Catwalk for Clean Water

Couture met consciousness at Sunday’s runway show.

One of the more creative fashion shows you’ll attend in Indy, the second annual Catwalk for Clean Water presented by the Hoosier Environmental Council and Aveda, unfolded at the Alexander hotel on Sunday afternoon. The fundraiser hosted 17 Central Indiana salons to compete in a judged fashion show, while raising awareness for clean water efforts in Indiana.

The salons rose to the occasion, creating some impressive, eco-friendly collections—everything from bullfighters to birds to skeletons paraded down the catwalk.

Rumors Salon & Spa in Avon won Best Collection for the second year in a row for their Dia de los Muertos theme. Best Tressed (best hair) was awarded to Trilogy Salon of Indianapolis, and Pure Concepts Salon in Plainfield received Best Dressed. The audience named Guys & Gals Quarters from Batesville the Eco Chic award winner.
