Po’ boy lovers, rejoice. Another Cajun restaurant is making its way to Indy. N’awlins Creole Cafe is opening a second location at Indiana Avenue and West Street., in the former Zing location. Co-owner and New Orleans native Brian Marcelin, who also runs a N’awlins Creole Cafe in Avon, says the move-in date will probably come sometime in October. “We liked the location, and the building looked like it belongs in the French Quarter,” says Marcelin, who plans to use both the upper and lower levels of the space, which the former lessees–mysteriously–did not utilize.
Marcelin learned to cook from his New Orleans born-and-raised mother, with whom he opened the Avon location. Their new restaurant will feature a casual, semi-formal environment with plates ranging from $8 to $22. “We get all our ingredients from New Orleans,” says Marcelin. “Shrimp, crab, crawfish, bread, red beans–all from New Orleans.”
