» On Thursday, Mass Ave’s Broken Beaker Distillery (643 Massachusetts Ave, 317-602-5546) will release its new Hypotenuse Gin at a launch party from 7 to 10 p.m. Coming off the back swing from their signature Pendulum Vodka, this spicy citrus gin is testing a new hypothesis on the classic Tom Collins..

» The team behind St. Elmo’s Steakhouse and Harry & Izzy’s is opening a high-end burger restaurant in Circle Centre. The full-service Burger Study will occupy 5,000 square feet along Georgia Street between Illinois and South Meridian. Expect a May 2017 opening.

» Former Colts linebacker Gary Brackett announced he’s closing his downtown Georgia Reese’s location, six months after closing the original restaurant on 86th Street. Brackett told the Indianapolis Star he anticipates ceasing operations before the end of the year, with hopes of reopening as CharBlu, a steak and seafood restaurant.

» On Oct. 1, the Indiana Spirits Bicentennial Birthday Bash at the Indiana State Museum celebrates 200 years of statehood in style with beer, wine, spirits, and food from local producers.

» “Eatertainment” venue Punch Bowl Social opened last week in Circle Centre. Private karaoke rooms and crispy chicken biscuits await.

Crispy chicken biscuit – just gonna leave this here. #eathereindy opens Saturday 🔑

» LongBranch, the new Asian-themed restaurant from Shoefly Public House proprietor Craig Mariutto, isn’t open yet, but you can get sneak peek at a pop-up dinner on October 2nd. LongBranch chef (and Bluebeard alum) Adam Ditter will take over the Shoefly space for the pop-up, serving family-style shrimp rangoon, flank steak with gochujang and a soft egg, and other Asian favorites. Tickets are $25.

» The downtown location of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse (45 S. Illinois St, Indianapolis, 317-633-1313) reopened this weekend after a major renovation. The popular steakhouse closed on September 1 for the redo.

» Elkhart-based Ben’s Soft Pretzels, known for its half-pound, hand-rolled Amish behemoths, has two new flavors on the menu: the Jalapeño Cheese savory pretzel and a Dutch Almond version with a sweet almond topping and dipping options like vanilla icing or smooth caramel.

» Milktooth (534 Virginia Ave., 317-986-5131) was named one of the best restaurants in the world by Condé Nast Traveler, adding another notch on the “best of” belt for chef Jonathan Brooks and Ashley Brooks, who opened the Fletcher Place favorite almost two years ago. It was the only Indiana restaurant to make the list, which was compiled by an all-star group of chefs, food writers, and world travelers.

Well this happened today! Couldn’t be more flattered. Thank you Indy @condenast and all of our incredible staff! We love you! @milktoothindy #milktoothindy
