Sneak Peek: The New Book From The Chicks on the Right

It’s every bit as provocative as you might suspect.
It was only a matter of time. The Chicks on the Right—ultra-conservative working moms-turned-bloggers-turned-WIBC radio personalities—can now add “published author” to their resumes. Miriam Weaver and Amy Jo Clark’s new book, Right for a Reason, hits stands tomorrow when the Carmel Barnes & Noble will host a book-signing at 7 p.m. We read the advance copy and picked out a few of the most incendiary remarks. (Full disclosure: WIBC is owned by Emmis Communications, which also owns Indianapolis Monthly.)
On capitalism: “We’re capitalists because we’d rather be happy. And blissfully successful. And able to take any extra money we have to buy a killer pair of pumps.”
On Occupy Wall Street and Nancy Pelosi: “According to Nancy McBotox, the Tea Party is a bunch of racist terrorists. But the hippies pooping in the street? Total patriots, y’all.”
On American exceptionalism: “Think about it. Is there anything more demoralizing than a president who downplays our exceptionalism, and worse still, apologizes to other countries on our behalf? That’s precisely what Obama has done.”
On government handouts: “The reality is that conservatives are demonstrably more compassionate and charitable than we’re ever given credit for, and we are right to believe that it takes actual effort to achieve the American dream. It’s right that we are reluctant to provide ‘something for nothing’ to parasitic leeches.”
On political correctness: “Instead of the campaigns against words and the hand-wringing over semantics, why don’t we leave the hypersensitivity and manufactured outrage to the liberal left, where they’ve practically made it an art form?”
On race: “We conservatives are downright exhausted from talking about race. You know why? Because we don’t give a crap about the color of anyone’s skin.”
On feminism: “What liberal feminists can’t seem to fathom is that real women in the real world have bigger concerns than having Joe Q. Taxpayer pay for their little packs of pills.”
On abortion: “We despise the fact that abortion has become so easy, so convenient, and so absolutely the hallmark of liberal feminists that it has become its own legitimate form of birth control. That’s beyond sickening.”
On fighting back: “Responding to attacks with politeness hasn’t gotten us anywhere. We need more pit bull and less Pomeranian … We need more feistiness. More spunk. More people unafraid of offending, and just determined to tell it like it is.
