Alton Brown Eats His Way Through Indy

And he documents it all on Twitter.
Before performing his brand of “culinary cabaret” on the Clowes Hall stage Sunday night, Food Network star Alton Brown ate his way through Indianapolis. (Visions of Martha Stewart at Napolese and Thirsty Scholar, and of Jimmy Fallon hitting spots ranging from Recess to Mug ‘n’ Bun!) Brown hails from hit programs such as Good Eats, Iron Chef, and Cutthroat Kitchen; his traveling show is called Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour and is said to include “songs, puppets, and ‘very large and unusual culinary demonstrations,'” Local stops included St. Elmo Steak House, Long’s Bakery, Jockamo’s Upper Crust Pizza, and Your Local Deli and Market. Brown sent libations down his gullet via Black Acre Brewing Company, LuLu’s Coffee and Bakehouse, and South Bend Chocolate Co. He also snacked on a bag of fresh crisps from Broad Ripple Chip Co. Suffice it to say, the guy knows how to nosh local—and how to crowd-source on Twitter.
Here’s all the photo evidence of his Indy dine-and-drink romp courtesy (who else?) @altonbrown:

Next stop on the tour: South Bend, two and a half hours north of Indy. And Brown was hardly done. This is his thing, and Fiddler’s Hearth was ready to receive him.
